Travels.....In Northern America

West Coast America - September 2003

I went with The Lifetrain Trust to the West Coast of America. We visited Las Vegas in Navada and Fresno, Salinas and San Francisco in California. The Lifetrain Trust (formerly Surrey Phab & Association of Youth Clubs) is an organisation that provides travel & social opportunities to disabled people. A group of 23 (14 disabled and 9 able bodied) flew out to Las Vegas. To the right you can see me with Marcia in Las Vegas early in our holiday. To read about the holiday click the button below:

Canada - Dec 1999 / Jan 2000

For the first time I decided to take a carer with me on this trip (Someone who I paid to come with me). Liz agreed at short notice to accompany me. We stayed in two different hotels in Toronto. We packed as much into the 8 days as we could including visiting the CN Tower and the Sky Dome (Home of the Toronto Blue Jays), several shopping trips to the Eton precinct, meeting some of Liz's relatives, Dining out and of course two visits to Niagara Falls including one as 1999 turned into the Year 2000. To the left you can see me and Liz at Niagara Falls on the last day of the twentieth century.

New York  & Orlando - June 1997

To the right you see a picture that tells a story. My first trip across the Atlantic was with my Friend Liz, firstly to New York City and then to Orlando, Florida. This picture was taken right outside the entrance to the Empire State Building. It shows me and Liz accompanied by 2 fire engines plus their crews. At the top of the building I managed to get a puncture in the right tyre of my wheelchair and the New York Fire Department came to my rescue. They removed the wheel then the tyre and fixed the puncture. The picture shows them in action with me a mere spectator. Other members of the public gathered on the path wondering what was going on.
